Wolfeboro Single Track Alliance to host Haunted Fun Ride/Walk

On Sunday, October 31 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Wolfeboro Single Track Alliance (WSA) will host a Haunted Fun Ride/Walk that will begin at Fernald Station parking lot on Route 109 in Wolfeboro.

The event, noted WSA Member Eddie Michno, will take people through the newly built Fernald Trails, which will be decorated for Halloween with “ghosts” and “bats” hanging from trees.

“It will be very kid-friendly,” said Michno, who noted he and other WSA members may dress up and pass out candy, too.

“It’s a great system of trails with about a half mile stretch decorated for the occasion,” he added.

Dedicated to the development and care of sustainable, trails designed for mountain biking, WSA recently received approval to create 20 miles of single track trails for the town of Wolfeboro.

“This is just the start of making Wolfeboro a premier destination for trail lovers—whether you love biking, hiking, skiing, or running,” said Michno.

Sewall Woods Workday

Please come join us for some fun dirty work in Sewall Woods. We will be concentrating on two projects.

The first is on lower Mum’s on the Run (This trail is if you stay left on the first split of the gravel trail). We will be cutting roots and laying down “rounds” to create a nice dry path through this area.

The second project is build a bridge on East Knob over a very wet area. We will need cordless screw guns.

It will be buggy and muddy so come prepared. Tools are needed - loppers, pick mattock, cutter mattock, ax - if you can bring any of these please do as we don’t have tools as an organization. We have many roots to remove!

We will meet in the Parking lot of Sewall woods at 9am. If you arrive after that an no one is there make your way to Mum’s on the Run and find us.

Thank you!
